Bobcats Coach Steve Clifford released from hospital

RALEIGH, N.C., Nov. 9 (UPI) -- Charlotte Bobcats Coach Steve Clifford was released from the hospital Saturday after undergoing a heart procedure, the team said.

Clifford suffered chest pains while having dinner Thursday and was rushed to a hospital.

An exam Friday determined surgery was needed and two stents were inserted into his heart.

"Bobcats head Coach Steve Clifford was released from the hospital this morning," the team said in a statement. "He is resting comfortably at home and looks forward to rejoining the team soon."

Former New York Knicks great Patrick Ewing, the Bobcats' associate head coach, was behind the bench Friday as Charlotte lost to New York 101-91.
