SAN JOSE, Calif., Nov. 3 (UPI) -- Antoine Vermette scored a goal in regulation and also provided the game-winner in a shootout in the Phoenix Coyotes' 3-2 decision over San Jose Saturday.

In the tiebreaker, Vermette tucked the puck past San Jose's Antti Niemi after moving from left-to-right across the crease.

Mikkel Boedker notched the other regulation goal for the Coyotes, who picked up a fourth straight win.

Mike Smith earned the victory, stopping 46-of-48 shots.

Dan Boyle and Joe Pavelski each scored as the Sharks dropped a second consecutive game.

Niemi finished with 28 saves.
