RALEIGH, N.C., Nov. 1 (UPI) -- Ben Bishop extended his strong start to the season Friday by making 31 saves to bring Tampa Bay a 3-0 blanking of Carolina.

Bishop has won eight of his 10 decisions this season and he handed the Hurricanes their fourth straight loss. It was the fourth shutout of Bishop's career and first this season.

The game was scoreless until the midway point of the second period when Victor Hedman put a slap shot past Justin Peters.

Steven Stamkos scored his 10th of the campaign with 8:22 left in the third and Alex Killorn tallied with 2:46 left.

Peters gave up all three goals on 32 shots.
