MINNEAPOLIS, Nov. 1 (UPI) -- Kevin Love scored 24 points and Minnesota slowed down Kevin Durant Friday to bring the Timberwolves a 100-81 win over Oklahoma City.

Minnesota has won its first two games of the season with a healthy Love playing a typically key role. Injuries limited Love to just 18 games last season in what turned out to be a dismal campaign for the Timberwolves.

Love made 7-of-12 from the field and grabbed a dozen rebounds. The Timberwolves took a 28-point lead into the fourth quarter and handed the Thunder their first loss.

Nikola Pekovic added 15 points for Minnesota and Ricky Rubio had 14.

Durant scored 42 points in his first game of the season, but was limited to 13 by the Timberwolves. He hit only 4-of-11 from the field while playing 27 minutes.

Oklahoma City was led by 16 points off the bench from Jeremy Lamb.
