MIAMI, Oct. 31 (UPI) -- Miami Dolphins tackle Jonathan Martin, missing from practice after an incident earlier in the week, has left the team and is with family, Fox Sports said.

The second-year veteran is seeking treatment for an undisclosed condition, the South Florida Sun Sentinel reported Thursday, saying a team source indicated Martin had been "dealing with a lot of stress, and he just snapped" in an altercation with teammates during the team's lunch hour Monday and has not been with the team since.

Martin's departure from the Dolphins was not illness- or injury-related, but began after he slammed a food tray to the floor after being teased by players, Fox Sports reported, adding he is receiving treatment but it is unclear where or why.
