ST. LOUIS, Oct. 29 (UPI) -- Russell Wilson and Golden Tate combined for two touchdown passes and the Seattle Seahawks made a final goal-line stand Monday to hold off St. Louis 14-9.
Wilson's 2-yard scoring toss to Tate in the second quarter put the Seahawks ahead to stay at 7-3 and his 80-yard bomb to the fourth-year receiver late in the third put Seattle up 14-6.
Greg Zuerlein's 27-yard field goal early in the fourth drew the Rams to within five points, and Kellen Clemens engineered a 13-play, 96-yard drive with the clock winding down to put St. Louis on the 1-yard line with time for two more plays.
But Heath Farwell stopped Daryl Richardson on a run up the middle for no gain, and Clemens overshot Brian Quick in the end zone on the game's final play, preserving the win for the Seahawks (7-1), who own the best record in the NFC.
Clemens, subbing for the injured Sam Bradford, completed 15-of-31 passes for 158 yards and two inceptions for St. Louis (3-5).
