Oct. 27, 2013 at 10:47 PM

DENVER, Oct. 27 (UPI) -- Peter Stastny set up the tying goal in the third period and then supplied the go-ahead tally Sunday, rallying the Colorado Avalanche over Winnipeg 3-2.

The Avalanche trailed 2-1 after two periods but collected the equalizer 7:13 into the final period when Stastny's centering pass was deflected into the high slot and Jan Hejda blasted it past Jets goalie Al Montoya.

Less than 8 minutes later, Stastny one-timed a pass across the crease from Gabriel Landeskog into the net, and the Central Division-leading Avs improved to 10-1-0 on the season with a fourth straight win.

Matt Duchene scored and Semyon Varlamov stopped 23-of-25 shots for Colorado.

Blake Wheeler and Bryan Little each had a goal and assist for the Jets, who lost for the fourth time in five games.

Montoya finished with 33 saves.
