MLS: San Jose 0, Los Angeles 0 (tie)

CARSON, Calif., Oct. 20 (UPI) -- Jaime Penedo made four saves Sunday and the Los Angeles Galaxy clinched a post-season berth with a 0-0 draw against San Jose.

The two-time defending MLS champions qualified for the post-season with a 15-11-7 record, good for third place in the Western Conference with one game remaining.

The result also handed the fourth-place Seattle Sounders a spot in the post-season.

Jon Busch recorded three saves for the Earthquakes (13-11-9), who were eliminated from the playoff hunt with the scoreless draw.
