NHL: Colorado 4, Buffalo 2

BUFFALO, N.Y., Oct. 19 (UPI) -- Jean-Sebastien Giguere made 28 saves Saturday and the Colorado Avalanche resumed their winning ways with a 4-2 victory over Buffalo.

Giguere was especially busy in the third period, making 15 stops to help Colorado rebound from its first loss of the season -- a 4-2 home defeat Thursday to Detroit.

The Avs improved to 7-1-0, with goals from Matt Duchene, Paul Stastny, Ryan O'Reilly and Gabriel Landeskog.

Marcus Foligno and Cody Hodgson scored for the Sabres, who lost for the ninth time in 10 games starting the season.

Ryan Miller stopped 26-of-30 shots for Buffalo.
