UNIONDALE, N.Y., Oct. 19 (UPI) -- Carolina's Jiri Tlusty provided two goals and a pair of assists Saturday, elevating the Hurricanes over the New York Islanders 4-3.

Eric Staal chipped in with a pair of helpers for the Hurricanes, who won a second straight following a three-game losing streak.

Jeff Skinner and Jordan Staal also scored.

Cam Ward stopped 22-of-25 shots for Carolina.

Frans Nielsen, Kyle Okposo and Matt Moulson each scored but it wasn't enough to prevent the Islanders from dropped a fourth in five games.

Evgeni Nabokov made 19 saves for New York.
