COMMERCE CITY, Colo., Oct. 19 (UPI) -- Gabriel Torres scored twice Saturday, including a tie-breaking tally in the second half, and Colorado dropped Vancouver from playoff contention with a 3-2 win.

Camilo Da Silva Sanvezzo's penalty-kick goal in the 75th minute had pulled the Whitecaps even at 2-2, but the Rapids responded quickly when Torres drilled a long, left-footed shot off the crossbar and into the goal.

Torres scored in the 41st minute and Deshorn Brown also scored for the Rapids (15-10-9), who came into the contest holding the Western Conference's fifth and final playoff slot.

Kekuta Manneh scored for Vancouver (12-13-9), whose 45 points won't be enough to get it into the post-season.
