Former Laker hurt in Orlando hit-and-run

ORLANDO, Fla., Oct. 15 (UPI) -- Chris Duhon, a former guard for the Los Angeles Lakers, has been injured in a hit-and-run incident in an Orlando, Fla., parking garage, police say.

The basketball player was treated at a hospital after he hit his head on the windshield of the car that allegedly hit him, the Orlando Sentinel reported Tuesday.

Police said Duhon and his brother-in-law Julio Hernandez, were walking through a parking garage in downtown Orlando Saturday when a man driving a black Lexus honked at them to get out of the way, shouted at them and then pointed his car at them.

Hernandez told officers he jumped out of the way, but Duhon was hit.

The driver left the scene.

During treatment for his injuries, Duhon told police he didn't remember the incident, but that he wanted to press charges against the driver.

Police are searching for the vehicle.

The Lakers waived Duhon in June.
