NHL: Minnesota 5, Dallas 1

ST. PAUL, Minn., Oct. 12 (UPI) -- Justin Fontaine and Matt Dumba each scored their first career NHL goal Saturday and the Minnesota Wild cruised past Dallas 5-1.

Fontaine got his first career tally just 12 seconds into the game for the fastest goal in franchise history, and Dumba's power-play goal in the second period boosted Minnesota to a 3-0 lead.

Matt Cooke added a goal and an assist, while Nino Niederreiter and Zach Parise also each scored as the Wild won a second straight.

Josh Harding, subbing for the injured Niklas Backstrom, stopped 18-of-19 shots for Minnesota.

Jordie Benn scored and Dan Ellis made 31 saves for the Stars.
