CARY, N.C., Oct. 12 (UPI) -- Russ Cochran
fired a second straight 6-under 66 Saturday to emerge from the pack and forge a two-shot, second-round lead at the SAS Championship.
Cochran, who had ended the first round in a three-way tie for first, matched his Day 1 total Saturday, ending 36 holes at 12-underr 132.
He'll be seeking his fifth Champions Tour title Sunday at Prestonwood Country Club.
Defending champion Bernhard Langer, Kirk Triplett and David Frost each carded a 5-under 67 and ended the day tied for second place at 10-under.
Michael Allen (68) was one shot further back in fifth.
Olin Browne (66), Kenny Perry (68), Craig Stadler (68) and Anders Forsbrand (67) were tied for sixth at 8-under.
