Stuckey out with broken thumb

Oct. 10, 2013 at 9:36 PM

DETROIT, Oct. 10 (UPI) -- The Detroit Pistons announced Thursday seven-year veteran guard Rodney Stuckey would undergo surgery to repair his fractured right thumb.

No timetable was given for his return to action. The injury, team officials said, occurred when Stuckey caught the thumb in a car door.

Stuckey has spent his entire career with the Pistons and averaged 11.5 points in 76 games last season.

Detroit opens its regular season on Oct. 30 against Washington.
