NFL to play three games in London next year

Oct. 8, 2013 at 7:25 PM

WASHINGTON, Oct. 8 (UPI) -- NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said Tuesday the league will play three regular-season games in London in 2014.

Jacksonville, Atlanta and Oakland will be the home teams in games that will be played at Wembley Stadium. Their opponents and the dates of the games will be announced later this season.

"Our fans in the U.K. have continued to demonstrate that they love football and want more," Goodell said at the league's meeting in Washington. "Both of this year's games in London sold out quickly. The fan enthusiasm for our sport continues to grow."

Minnesota defeated Pittsburgh in one game this season. Jacksonville will play San Francisco Oct. 27.
