VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Oct. 6 (UPI) -- Brad Richardson netted a short-handed goal to ignite a run of five consecutive scores for Vancouver Saturday in the Canucks' 6-2 blitz of Edmonton.

Richardson's tally 3:42 into the game erased an early 1-0 deficit, and Dan Hamhuis, Jannik Hansen, Daniel Sedin and Ryan Kesler followed with consecutive goals as Vancouver recorded its first win of the season.

Robert Luongo earned the win, turning aside 21-of-23 shots.

Boyd Gordon and Jeff Petry scored for the Oilers, who fell to 0-2-0 on the young season.

Edmonton's Devan Dubnyk was lit up for five goals on 31 shots.
