UNIONDALE, N.Y., Oct. 5 (UPI) -- Cam Atkinson's goal in the fourth round of a shootout Saturday capped a rally that boosted Columbus to a 3-2 win over the New York Islanders.

The Blue Jackets used third-period goals from Ryan Johansen and Mark Letestu to send the game into overtime and then to a tiebreaker.

Sergei Bobrovsky made 28 saves for Columbus, which notched its initial win of the season following a Friday loss to Calgary.

Lubomir Visnovsky registered a goal with an assist and Matt Moulson also scored for New York, which had logged a win over New Jersey in Friday's 2013-14 opener.

Evgeni Nabokov stopped 27-of-29 shots for the Islanders.
