BOSTON, Oct. 5 (UPI) -- David Ortiz smacked two homers Saturday and Boston took a commanding 2-0 American League Division Series lead with a 7-4 win over Tampa Bay.

Ortiz blasted a solo homer in the first inning for a quick 2-0 Red Sox lead and added another bases-empty smash in the eighth, capping the scoring.

Dustin Pedroia drove in three runs, and Jacoby Ellsbury went 3-for-4 with an RBI and three runs scored for Boston, which swept the first two games of the best-of-five ALDS at Fenway Park.

John Lackey (1-0) earned the win despite allowing four runs on seven hits over 5 1/3 innings, walking three and striking out six.

Craig Breslow and Junichi Tazawa combined for 2 2/3 shutout relief innings and Koji Uehara nailed down the victory with a 1-2-3 ninth for his first post-season save.

Rays starter David Price (0-1) was roughed up for seven runs on nine hits over seven innings.

James Loney drove in a pair of runs for Tampa Bay, which hosts Monday's Game 3.
