MLB: Miami 2, Detroit 1 (10 innings)

MIAMI, Sept. 29 (UPI) -- Ed Lucas and Giancarlo Stanton each drove in a late run Saturday, rallying the Miami Marlins over Detroit 2-1 in a 10-inning interleague victory.

The Marlins had trailed 1-0 for much of the game before pushing across the tying run in the bottom of the ninth on Lucas' two-out single against Tigers closer Joaquin Benoit.

Then in the 10th, Justin Ruggiano drew a leadoff walk against rookie Evan Reed (0-1) and went to second Juan Pierre's pinch-hit sacrifice bunt.

Reed then hit Donovan Solano in the helmet with a pitch -- the Marlins second baseman left the field under his own his power -- and walked Christian Yelich before Stanton came through with an RBI single to center field for the game-winner.

Steve Cishek (4-6) was credited with the win as Miami clinched its three-game season-ending series against the American League Central champions.

Alex Avila drove in the only run for the Tigers.
