BALTIMORE, Sept. 28 (UPI) -- Steve Pearce drove in three runs, including a two-run double that put Baltimore ahead in the eighth inning, rallying the Orioles over Boston 6-5 Saturday.

Trailing 5-4 in the eighth, the Orioles led off against Junichi Tazawa (5-4) with consecutive singles from Matt Wieters and Danny Valencia.

After Nick Markakis struck out, Pearce shot a liner down the third base line past a leaping Will Middlebrooks for a two-run double, hoisting Baltimore to a win in the middle contest of a season-ending three-game series.

Kevin Gausman (3-5) earned the victory and Jim Johnson racked up his 49th save for Baltimore.

David Ross drove in two runs, Daniel Nava added four hits and Dustin Pedroia went 3-for-5 with an RBI for the American League East champion Red Sox.
