MLB: Milwaukee 4, New York Mets 2

NEW YORK, Sept. 27 (UPI) -- Norichika Aoki and Khris Davis hit home runs in the first inning Friday to start Milwaukee on its way to a 4-2 victory over the New York Mets.

The Brewers won in New York for the ninth time in 10 tries, getting six solid innings from Yovani Gallardo.

Aoki hit a solo shot in the opening inning and Davis followed with a two-run blast. Davis eventually led the game in the eighth with a leg injury. Martin Maldonado also homered for the Brewers in the seventh.

Gallardo (12-10) gave up two runs on seven hits and struck out six over six innings to get the win. He has a 4-0 record and a 2.10 ERA over his last eight starts.

The loss was charged to Carlos Torres (4-6), who gave up three runs on four hits in six innings.
