ANAHEIM, Calif., Sept. 25 (UPI) -- Jered Weaver tossed seven innings of one-run ball Wednesday and the Los Angeles Angels scored a pair of unearned runs in their 3-1 win over Oakland.

Weaver (11-8) allowed five hits, issued one walk and struck out two.

Dane De La Rosa contributed a scoreless eighth inning and Ernesto Frieri wrapped up the victory with his 37th save as the Angels took the rubber match of a three-game series.

The Angels led 1-0 in the fifth when they took advantage of an error by A's first baseman Daric Barton to score two runs on RBI singles from Erick Aybar and Josh Hamilton (2-for-4, two RBI).

Dan Straily (10-8) was saddled with the loss, surrendering three runs (one earned) on seven hits over 6 2/3 innings for the American League West champion Athletics.

Jed Lowrie drove in Oakland's only run.
