NEW YORK, Sept. 25 (UPI) -- The NBA's 2015 All-Star Weekend will be in New York with the New York Knicks and Brooklyn Nets sharing hosting duties, the league said Wednesday.

The 64th All-Star Game itself will be played Feb. 15, 2015, in Madison Square Garden -- the Knicks home -- with events such as the slam dunk and three-point shooting contests over the two days before at the Barclays Center, in Brooklyn where the Nets play.

"New York offers an extraordinary opportunity to host NBA All-Star events at two world-class venues," NBA Commissioner David Stern said in a statement Wednesday. "We look forward to celebrating our game with basketball fans across the entire city, in all five boroughs."

The last time the Knicks hosted the All-Star Game was in 1998. The Nets were the host team for the 1982 game in East Rutherford, N.J.

The next NBA All-Star Game is scheduled for Feb. 16, 2014, in New Orleans.
