LONDON, N.H., Sept. 22 (UPI) -- Matt Kenseth
extended his lead in the Chase for the Sprint Cup championship Sunday, holding off Kyle Busch
for a win at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
Kenseth grabbed the lead from Clint Bowyer after a restart with 92 laps to go, then out-sprinted Joe Gibbs Racing teammate Busch down the stretch to record a 0.5-second victory in the Sylvania 300.
It was the second win in consecutive Chase starts for Kenseth, who notched his series-leading and career-high seventh win of the season after also taking last week's playoff opener at Chicagoland Speedway.
He increased his points lead over Busch to 14 with the victory -- his 500th career Sprint Cup start.
Greg Biffle claimed third place, followed by Jimmie Johnson and Jamie McMurray.
Johnson is third in the Chase, trailing by 18 points.
