Sept. 22, 2013 at 5:37 PM   |   Comments

DETROIT, Sept. 22 (UPI) -- Jeff Keppinger and Avisail Garcia each supplied three hits and drove in a pair of runs Sunday, helping the Chicago White Sox down Detroit 6-3.

Conor Gillaspie also collected two RBI and scored three runs as the White Sox avoided a three-game series sweep and dashed the Tigers' hopes of clinching the American League Central title at home.

Detroit's magic number winning the division instead remained at two.

Erik Johnson (2-2) went 6 2/3 innings for the victory, allowing two runs on nine hits.

Tigers starter Anibal Sanchez (14-8) surrendered four runs on eight hits over five innings.

Prince Fielder homered for Detroit.
