America's Cup Race 14 postponed due to unfavorable winds

Sept. 21, 2013 at 8:08 PM   |   Comments

SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 21 (UPI) -- A possibly decisive Race 14 of the America's Cup was postponed Saturday due to unsuitable wind conditions on San Francisco Bay.

Race officials called off the contest until Sunday with Emirates Team New Zealand holding an 8-3 advantage over defending champions Oracle Team USA.

The first team to nine points wins the regatta.

The event was scrubbed after winds were determined to be too southerly to compete on the preferred course.
