Brown argued with offensive Coach Todd Haley during the second half of the game in Cincinnati, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported Wednesday, and "that the two were still seething about it Tuesday."
The Bengals beat the Steelers 20-10, dropping Pittsburgh to 0-2.
Brown caught two passes for 35 yards in the first half, and ended up with six catches for 57 yards in the game.
He has complained in the past to coaches and teammates about not getting enough passes thrown his way, although not to the extent that was evident in Monday's confrontation, the newspaper said.
Brown, a sixth-round pick out of Central Michigan University in 2010, has 162 catches for 2,190 yards and 15 touchdowns in 40 games overall with the Steelers.
