PHILADELPHIA, Sept. 16 (UPI) -- Cliff Lee struck out 14 over eight innings and went 3-for-4 with four RBI at the plate Monday in the Philadelphia Phillies' 12-2 rout of Miami.
On the mound, Lee (14-6) notched his fourth win in five starts, lowering his ERA to 2.95 while tossing 84-of-113 pitches for strikes. The left-hander yielded two runs on eight hits without a walk.
At the plate, he cracked his first career triple to drive in a run while adding three more RBI via a pair of run-scoring singles. He became the first Phillies pitcher in 83 years to record a three-hit, four-RBI game.
Chase Utley also drove in four runs -- including three-run homer -- and Darin Ruf provided two-run clout as Philadelphia took the first of a three-game series.
Miami's Sam Dyson (0-1) was tagged for seven runs on six hits over 2 2/3 innings in his first major-league start.
Justin Ruggiano and Adeiny Hechavarria each supplied an RBI for the Marlins.
