PRAGUE, Czech Republic, Sept. 15 (UPI) -- Argentina closed out its Davis Cup semifinal series against defending champion the Czech Republic Sunday with a pair of dead-rubber singles wins.

The Czechs clinched the semifinal Saturday when Tomas Berdych and Radek Stepanek teamed to down Argentine counterparts Carlos Berlocq and Horacio Zeballos 6-3, 6-4, 6-2 for an insurmountable 3-0 advantage in the best-of-five semifinal series.

Argentina, meanwhile finished up Sunday with victories by Zeballos over Lukas Rosol, 4-6, 7-6 (8-6), 6-4, and by Leonardo Mayer over Jiri Vesely, 6-4, 6-4.

The Czechs -- who captured their first Davis Cup over Spain last year -- in November will face Serbia, which rallied for a win over Canada in Sunday's other semifinal.
