Canada tops Serbia in doubles at Davis Cup semifinals

BELGRADE, Serbia, Sept. 14 (UPI) -- Canada's doubles team upended powerful Serbia in five sets Saturday to give the North Americans a 2-1 lead in their Davis Cup semifinals.

Canada can clinch a spot in the November finals against the Czech Republic with a win in one of Sunday's two reverse singles matches.

The doubles team of Daniel Nestor and Vasek Pospisil put the Canadians on the brink of advancing with an epic 6-7 (6-8), 6-4, 3-6, 7-6 (7-5), 10-8 victory in Belgrade over Nenad Zimonjic and Ilija Bozoliac.

Milos Raonic will face world No. 1 Novak Djokovic in the first match Sunday. Raonic beak Janko Tiprasevic in five sets Friday. Djokovic, needed 100 minutes to top Pospisil on Friday.
