CHICAGO, Sept. 12 (UPI) -- Anibal Sanchez struck out 10 over 7 1/3 innings Wednesday and extended his unbeaten streak to almost two months in Detroit's 1-0 win over the Chicago White Sox.

Sanchez (14-7) has not lost a game since July 19 and is 7-0 in 10 starts since then.

He escaped a bases-loaded jam in the fifth and gave up five hits before giving way to the bull pen, which held the White Sox without a hit the rest of the way.

Joaquin Benoit struck out one in the ninth for his 18th save.

The game was scoreless into the eighth, during which Prince Fielder and Victor Martinez reached on one-out singles. Omar Infante then drove in the only run of the contest with a single to left.

The run was charged to Matt Lindstrom (2-4), who retired only two batters.
