Manuel, 23 who played collegiately at Florida State, underwent left knee surgery in mid-August but Bills Coach Doug Marrone still tabbed Manuel as the starting quarterback for Marrone's first game leading Buffalo.
Manuel played in the first two pre-season games prior to what was described as a minor procedure on his knee. He returned to practice Sunday. Manuel completed 26-of-33 passes for 199 yards and two touchdowns in the pre-season.
Over four seasons at Florida State, Manuel was 600-for-897 passing for 7,736 yards, 47 touchdowns and 28 interceptions. He also ran for 827 yards and 11 scores. He was 25-6 as the Seminoles' starting quarterback. The Bills chose him with the 16th overall selection in the 2013 NFL draft.
