ATLANTA, Aug. 27 (UPI) -- Alex Wood and four Atlanta relievers combined on a six-hit shutout Tuesday and the Braves blanked Cleveland 2-0 in an interleague contest.

Wood (3-2) scattered five hits over five innings, overcoming four walks while striking out five. The left-hander has registered a 0.90 ERA in five August starts for the National League East leaders.

Scott Downs and Luis Avilan teamed up for 2 1/3 scoreless relief innings and Craig Kimbrel finished with his 42nd save for Atlanta, which took the first of a three-game set.

The Braves scored both of their runs on an Elliot Johnson triple in the second inning.

Danny Salazar (1-2) coughed up a pair of runs on three hits in a four-inning start for the Indians, who came into the contest two games out of an American League wild card berth.
