TORONTO, Aug. 26 (UPI) -- R.A. Dickey yielded just one earned run over 6 1/3 innings and Toronto scored three times in the sixth inning Monday in its 5-2 win over the New York Yankees.
Dickey (10-12) allowed two runs overall, giving up six hits and three walks while striking out six to snap a personal three-start winless streak.
The Blue Jays' bullpen combined for 2 2/3 scoreless innings, capped by Casey Janssen's 24th save as Toronto took the opener of a three-game series.
Adam Lind followed with an RBI double and Moises Sierra added a sacrifice fly to complete the big inning.
Hughes (4-13) ended up allowing five runs (four earned) on seven hits over 4 2/3 innings for the Yankees, who came into the contest trailing Oakland by 3 1/2 games in the American League wild card chase.
