NFL: San Francisco 34, Minnesota 14

SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 25 (UPI) -- Colin Kaepernick went 7-of-13 through the air for 72 yards with a TD pass Sunday, highlighting the San Francisco 49ers' 34-14 pre-season win over Minnesota.

Kaepernick's 5-yard scoring strike to Quinton Patton in the first quarter made it 10-0 for San Francisco, which never trailed in the contest.

Lavelle Hawkins scored on a 105-yard kickoff return while Jewel Hampton and Anthony Dixon each added a late touchdown run for the 49ers.

Phil Dawson converted both his field goal tries in the victory.

Christian Ponder completed 17-of-23 pass attempts for 116 yards and a pair of touchdowns but also lost a fumble and tossed an interception for the Vikings, who are winless in the pre-season.
