MLB: San Francisco 4, Pittsburgh 0

SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 25 (UPI) -- Ryan Vogelsong yielded just two hits over eight shutout innings Sunday, lifting the San Francisco Giants over Pittsburgh 4-0.

Vogelsong (3-4) allowed just a third-inning single to Andrew Lambo and seventh-inning hit to Andrew McCutchen. He yielded one walk while striking out five.

Pablo Sandoval went 2-for-4 with a two-run triple while Buster Posey and Joaquin Arias each drove in a run for the Giants, who earned a split in their four-game series.

A.J. Burnett (6-9) surrendered four runs on eight hits over 7 1/3 innings for Pittsburgh, which remained in a tie with St. Louis atop the National League Central.
