PHILADELPHIA, Aug. 23 (UPI) -- Chase Utley
drew a bases-loaded walk with one out in the ninth Friday, forcing in the winning run and giving Philadelphia a 4-3 victory over Arizona.
The Phillies produced their third consecutive walkoff triumph, two of them having come via a walk.
Heath Bell (4-2) came on in the ninth for the Diamondbacks in an attempt to take the game into extra innings, but he gave up singles to Cody Asche and Jimmy Rollins to put runners on first and third.
Michael Young was walked intentionally to load the bases and Bell then struck out Kevin Frandsen.
That brought up Utley and Eury De La Rosa came out of the bullpen to face him. Utley worked the count full before taking the fourth ball that ended the game.
Philadelphia closer Jonathan Papelbon (4-1) wound up with the win after working the top of the ninth.
Carlos Ruiz delivered a two-run double in the sixth for the Phillies to bring them back from a 3-1 deficit.
