NFL: Cleveland 24, Detroit 6

CLEVELAND, Aug. 15 (UPI) -- Brandon Weeden threw for 117 yards and two touchdowns during the first half Thursday, leading Cleveland to a 24-6 preseason win over Detroit.

Weeden, in his second year out of Oklahoma State, sent both his scoring passes to Jordan Cameron -- a 10-yarder in the first period and a 5-yarder in the second that gave the Browns a 17-0 lead.

In Cleveland's two exhibition games, Weeden has completed 18-of-25 passes for 225 yards and three scores. The Browns have won both outings.

David Akers and Havard Rugland both kicked field goals for the Lions (1-1).

Detroit quarterback Matthew Stafford completed 11-of-16 for 74 yards. Reggie Bush, having spent the last two years of his seven-year career with Miami, picked up 15 yards on eight carries and caught five passes for 44 yards.
