MLB: Chicago Cubs 6, St. Louis 5

ST. LOUIS, Aug. 11 (UPI) -- Darwin Barney drove in two runs with an eighth-inning double Saturday, sparking the Chicago Cubs' 6-5 comeback win over St. Louis.

The Cubs were trailing 4-2 in the eighth when Welington Castillo and Nate Schierholtz each drew walks from Trevor Rosenthal (1-3) to begin the inning.

Rosenthal then struck out both Starlin Castro and Cody Ransom, but Barney came through in the clutch, slicing a pitch into the right-center field alley for a score-tying, two-run double.

Pinch-hitter Dioner Navarro then gave Chicago a 5-4 lead with another two-bagger and Schierholtz added a much-needed insurance run with an RBI single in the ninth.

Castillo socked a solo homer for the Cubs, who clinched their three-game series.

Blake Parker (1-1) corralled his first major-league victory with a scoreless seventh inning and Kevin Gregg picked up his 25th save despite surrendering a ninth-inning solo homer to Matt Holiday.

Holliday also belted a three-run shot for the slumping Cardinals, who dropped a fourth straight.
