TORONTO, Aug. 10 (UPI) -- World No. 1 Serena Williams will face off against Romania's Sorana Cirstea for the Rogers Cup title after each won a semifinal victory Saturday.
Williams needed 1 hour, 51 minutes to get past Poland's Agnieszka Radwanska 7-6 (7-3), 6-4 in one semifinal, winning a rematch of the 2012 Wimbledon final.
The top-ranked American star will be seeking her third Canadian crown and her 54th career singles title, which would give her sole possession of ninth-place on the all-time list.
Her opponent will be Cirstea, who advanced to her first final since 2008 with a 6-1, 7-6 (7-5) decision over world No. 5 Li Na of China in Saturday's first semifinal.
The Romanian had earlier knocked off a pair of other Top 10 players -- Caroline Wozniacki and defending champion Petra Kvitova -- en route to Saturday's match.
