NASHVILLE, Aug. 8 (UPI) -- Pat White threw a 2-point conversion pass to Emmanuel Ogbuehi with 2:23 remaining Thursday to give Washington a 22-21 decision over Tennessee.

White, starting his second NFL season, scored on a 9-yard run to give the Redskins a chance to tie the contest in their exhibition opener. But they chose to go for the win and the play succeeded with White throwing to a rookie out of Georgia State.

Rex Grossman completed 10-of-21 passes for 119 yards and a touchdown as the Redskins await the return of quarterback Robert Griffin III to full-scale action.

The teams played to a 14-14 halftime tie with Chris Johnson scoring on a 58-yard run for the Titans. His only other run of the game netted 2 yards.
