MONTREAL, Aug. 9 (UPI) -- Rafael Nadal posted a one-sided win over Marinko Matosevic Friday to earn a semifinal meeting with top-ranked Novak Djokovic at the Rogers Cup.

Nadal defeated Matosevic 6-2, 6-4 and will now face Djokovic for the 36th time. Nadal holds a 20-15 all-time advantage over Djokovic with much of that success having come in clay court tournaments. This tune-up for the U.S. Open is being played on a hard court.

Pospisil's semifinal opponent will be fellow Canadian Milos Raonic, who outlasted Ernest Gulbis 7-6 (7-3), 4-6, 6-4. Gulbis eliminated No. 2 seed Andy Murray Thursday.
