TORONTO, Aug. 7 (UPI) -- Serena Williams coasted to a win in her first appearance of the tournament Wednesday and Magdalena Rybarikova won her seventh straight match at the Rogers Cup.

The top-seeded Williams, a winner of seven tournaments this year, breezed past Francesca Schiavone 6-3, 6-2 after receiving a bye past the first round.

Williams will next meet Kirsten Flipkens, who eliminated Kiki Bertens 7-5, 3-6, 6-2. Flipkens defeated Williams' sister Venus in the opening round.

Serena Williams has won 38 of her last 39 matches on the WTA circuit. Her only loss in that stretch came in the fourth round at Wimbledon, where she was surprised by Sabine Lisicki.

Rybarikova, who won the tour stop last week in Washington, reached the third round with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Varvara Lepchenko. Marion Bartoli will face Rybarikova after defeating Lauren Davis 6-0, 6-3.

Also advancing were third-seeded Agnieszka Radwanska with a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Yanina Wickmayer and No. 4 seed Li Na with a 6-1, 6-4 triumph over Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova.

Other second-round winners included Sara Errani, Sloane Stephens, Roberta Vinci, Petra Kvitova and Samantha Stosur.
