MLB: Baltimore 4, San Diego 1

SAN DIEGO, Aug. 7 (UPI) -- Bud Norris turned in a solid second start for Baltimore Tuesday by leading the Orioles past the San Diego Padres 4-1.

Norris (8-9), who was acquired in a trade from Houston in time for the stretch run of the pennant race, allowed one run on five hits over six innings.

Adam Jones went 4-for-4 and drove in two runs in the victory. Chris Davis had an RBI double and Jim Johnson pitched a scoreless ninth for his 39th save of the season.

The Padres, who had won six of eight coming into the game, had an RBI from Yonder Alonso. Edinson Volquez (8-9) took the loss despite a respectable six innings in which he allowed two runs on six hits.
