The Blue Jays were trailing 5-2 but struck for two runs in the eighth and two more in the ninth to avoid a four-game series sweep.
In the eighth, the Blue Jays narrowed the deficit when Angels third baseman Chris Nelson threw away a potential double-play grounder, allowing Rajai Davis (3-for-5, RBI) to score.
One out later, an infield single by Maicer Izturis made it 5-4.
Then in the ninth, closer Ernesto Frieri (0-4) allowed a single to Brett Lawrie leading off the inning and hit J.P. Arencibia with a pitch.
One out later, Dane De La Rosa induced Davis to force Lawrie at third on a grounder, but Jose Bautista (3-for-5, two RBI) then came through with a score-tying single to left.
Davis went to second on the play, stole third and scored the key run when Encarnacion followed by smacking a 2-0 pitch to left.
Mark Trumbo ripped a three-run homer for Los Angeles.
