LONG POND, Pa., Aug. 4 (UPI) -- Kasey Kahne notched his second victory of the Sprint Cup season Sunday, edging out Jeff Gordon to claim the GoBowling.com 400 at Pocono Raceway.

Kahne grabbed the lead from Hendrick Motorsports teammate Gordon with two laps to go following a final restart and beat the defending champ to the finish line by 1.4 seconds.

Kahne's 16th career victory bolstered his hopes of qualifying for the Chase for the Sprint Cup championship.

Gordon, meanwhile, remained winless this season, settling for second place.

Kurt Busch came in third, with Ryan Newman and Dale Earnhardt Jr. completing the Top 5.

Points leader Jimmie Johnson overcame a series of mechanical problems for a 13th-place finish.
