RENO, Nev., Aug. 4 (UPI) -- Gary Woodland notched seven points Sunday, totaling 44 under the Modified Stableford scoring system to win the Reno-Tahoe Open.

Woodford finished nine points ahead of Jonathan Byrd and Andres Romero to claim his second career PGA Tour win and first since 2011.

He came into the final round with a seven-point lead, but was challenged by Byrd, who racked up a single-day record 18 points. Byrd pulled within two points of the lead with a birdie at the 14th, but faltered from there, failing to pick up another point.

Woodland moved back to a six-point advantage with a chip for birdie on the same hole.

Romero earned eight final-round points.

Sole possession of fourth place went to Brendan Steele, who registered three points and ended with 33.

Sharing fifth at 32 points were Dicky Pride (eight points) and David Mathis (three).
