Winds halt Women's British Open until Sunday

ST. ANDREWS, Scotland, Aug. 3 (UPI) -- Saturday's third round of the Women's British Open was suspended until Sunday due to high winds in Scotland, tournament officials said.

Round three will get under way early Sunday morning at St. Andrews, with Na Yoen Choi leading the field by one stroke.

Choi, the 2012 U.S. Women's Open champion, finished 36 holes at 10-under-par 134. She has seven LPGA Tour titles, but hasn't won since the end of last year.

Miki Saiki shot a 66 Friday to move into second place at 9-under par. First-round co-leader Morgan Pressel was in third place at 8-under 136.

None of the leaders was among the nine players who battled their way through all 18 holes Saturday as winds whipped up to 40 mph, the BBC said.
