ATLANTA, Aug. 1 (UPI) -- Justin Upton drove in five runs with a pair of homers Thursday, propelling Atlanta to an 11-2 victory over Colorado.
The Braves have won seven in a row, all of them coming on a homestand they completed with Thursday's triumph. It was only the second perfect homestand of seven or more games in franchise history.
Upton hit a two-run homer in the first and added a three-run shot in the eighth, giving him 18 for the year. Jason Heyward also had a two-run blast in the fourth as part of Atlanta's 14-hit attack.
Julio Teheran (8-5) struck out a career-best 11 over five innings to get the win. He allowed a run on five hits and also had two hits of his own, including an RBI double in the second.
Colorado's Chad Bettis (0-1) made his major league debut and suffered the loss, surrendering five runs on six hits with five walks in five innings.
